This
nihonga exhibition (2012/05/28-06/02) by Ito Reiko (伊東玲子) at
Nabis Gallery (なびす画廊) consisted of three large paintings constructed in an interesting way - with normally thick
nihonga paper in the back, which was painted upon and then covered by a thin sheet of
nihonga paper and painted again, and then another thin sheet of
nihonga paper, etc. The artist said each of the paintings had either two or three sheets of thin paper forming translucent layers (with a thick sheet at the back). With no apparent paint build-up at all, the pictures had a lot of depth. For the scale of the paintings, see this
[gallery page].
この日本画展示会は、DM絵葉書のような絵でした。 三つの大きい絵、それぞれ数枚の透き通った和紙を使って、絵の深さは、面白かったです。 大きさを理解すると、この
