Noda Tamotsu (野田保展) Exhibition at Art Space Rashinban (アートスペース羅針盤) - (2012/06)

This exhibition (2012/06/18-23) by Noda Tamotsu (野田保) at Art Space Rashinban (アートスペース羅針盤) consisted of paintings in the style you can see in the second photo below.  This artist has also published a book entitled "Dai-san-no-Jinsei" (第三の人生) about how beyond the "Life begins at 50" expression, people can reinvent themselves after retirement.

この展示会は、上の写真のような絵でした。 画家が、「第三の人生」と言う本も書いてある。 とてもいいコンセプトと思いながら、私自身は、倒れるまで第一人生な気がして....
   The artist said he began painting after retirement and thinks people should take up new pursuits after exiting the regular work world.  It's a great idea I think, but for me personally, I couldn't help but think it probably won't apply.  I've pursued photography for decades  now - always struggling to pay the bills, and probably I'll continue struggling, never getting to a second stage, never mind third, before I keel over....
