Shimamura Munemitsu (島村宗充) Installation at Gallery Hinoki (ギャラリー檜) - (2012/06)

This installation (2012/06/18-23) by Shimamura Munemitsu (島村宗充) at Gallery Hinoki (ギャラリー檜) looked like the images below.  For some reason, when I walked into the room, the various poles looked like weapons in racks to me - and I had an urge (suppressed naturally!) to choose/grab a pole and start swinging it about.  (Video / 動画 [A] [B])

When I told the artist that the poles reminded me of kendo, he laughed and said that people had seen a variety of things in the objects, but I was the first one to suggest kendo.  この展示会は、上の写真のようなインストレーションでした。 なぜか、部屋に入ってからすぐ、並んだ棒が何だか、武器見たいな感じしてから、一本を取って振り回して見たいと思って...  作品を作ったアーティストにそう言うと笑って、剣道で見えたのは、私だけらしい。
