This exhibition (2011/07/25-30) by Hattori Mutsumi (服部睦美) at
Gallery Kobo (巷房) consisted of a set of really cool metallic... sculptures is probably the best word, with some elements (much more in the previous year's exhibition, less so now) having machine influences. When I saw this artist's exhibition last year, it turned out that she has a BMW motorcycle and has had to perform repairs on it out on the road. This time, I asked about the BMW and she said it's okay, but a second motorcycle she bought she got into an accident with. I beamed a concerned look in her direction and she said "The bike was ruined, but I was fine" and as she said that, she raised her arms in the "I'm tough" pose with clenched fists. Not sure if the moment conveys between the lines here, but it was pretty funny at the time.
この展示会は、DM絵葉書見たいな金属の美しい像でした。 このアーティストは、凄いいい作品を作る。欲しいと思ってます! 次の展示会をお楽しみにしています。
