This exhibition (2012/04/16-21) by
Yo Shimadu (シマジヨウ) at
Gallery.B Tokyo (ギャラリービートウキョウ) consisted of the carved out root sections of large tree trunks (apparently obtained from construction sites), the concept being carving out one ring at a time, until he had reached the first years of the tree.
